Ebony night sky filled with stars
Awaits the slowly rising moon
Stars twinkle brightly like diamonds
As if inviting the moon to join them
As they dance in their nightly journey
The moon slides up from the horizon
Until all of tis bright glory can be seen
The full moon out shines the stars
Closest to its sun reflected light
Enjoying its few nights in the spotlight
Before it begins its routine decline
And once more diminishes to
Just a thin crescent in the sky.
As the moon dwindles to nothingness
The stars continue to twinkle and shine
Until once again the moon returns
In all its glory to outshine them
In its few nights of round fullness
As the highlight of the ebony night sky.

Thank you. I love skies and take lots of pictures of it. This picture exists only in my mind since my camera could never capture what my eyes and mind see at night.
