Differences between winter in the South and winter in the North.

A foggy day outside Mathis town

Temperatures did not go up

They went slowly down.

Winter had only been a day

Here and there but now it has

Decided to come and stay.

Skies are overcast with clouds

Hovering on even the ground

As fog the distant trees enshroud.

Cold and rain weather forecasts

Predicted for several days and nights

Then our winter will have past.

South Texas winters quickly give way to spring

Unlike our unfortunate neighbors to the North

Whose winters last for months and seem to cling.

While birds sing and spring flowers burst forth

In the south, snow and ice continue to plague

All those living in the cold and frozen North.

So true. I live in the North and like the change in seasons. I can deal with snow and cold better than heat and humidity.

Thank you once again. Right now I would take the heat and humidity. We are not getting above freezing today and had a record low last night in the teens with chill factor in single digits. We are predicted to have five more days of this before normal weather returns and my furnace is unusable because of carbon monoxide leaks. Almost the entire brand is known for this. My warranty company will not pay for a substitute brand so I am stuck with no furnace for as long as I live in my trailer and I have several years before it is paid off. It is such a piece of junk no one in their right mind would pay me what my loan balance is. So much for trusting promises from the dealer and I bought it brand new in 2017.
