When I hit the low bank of snow
On the roundabout, frozen hard
Overnight, the coldest in ten years
The car gave a shuddering hop
Not skittering sideways, just a spasm
Easily rectified, yet memory jolting
About his car hitting a salt mound, flailing
Off road into the icy waters at Whale Cove.
I miss you John Morris Rankin.
