when from the world it seems we’re free,

those are the times when you can be you

and I, I can be me.

Those are the moments when I feel at home,

when I feel whole or somewhat mended;

young at heart I guess we’ll be,

when you are you and I am me.

Those are the times when we can have fun,

and instead of much older we’re feeling young;

se are the moments to which I have clung

when you were you and I was me.

But it’s all a fiction inside my head

and sometimes reality takes root to spread;

reminding me painfully, bringing such dread,

of all of those words that we have never said.

No matter the distance, a world apart

I still will not come and reclaim my heart.

When you can be you and I can be me
