Water plashes merrily from the filter
Much like a miniature waterfall
As Tetras ply their way in the tank
With smooth glides and sudden blips
While Angelfish regally sail past
Gouramis, Swordtails, Mollies and Barbs
That swim together as they share
The active crowded upper space
The lower areas Catfish, Loaches and Plecos
Vie for morsels overlooked by other fish.
Algae Eaters suction their way up the glass
Keeping it free of slimy green growth
Whether lazily swimming in the lower areas
Or darting to and fro in the area above
The finny denizens of the aquarium
go about their days in a water ballet
of the swimming scaly finny denizens
that soothes and calms the soul
Wearied by daily toils and cares

This is such a pretty description of an aquarium! It reminds me of the one we used to keep. The way fish swim does look like an elegant ballet.

Thank you. I wrote this one based on a 125 gallon aquarium we had in our living room. I'm thinking of writing one about Betas with the way their fins are so elegant but their nature is so belligerent.
