A poem about the inner struggle we face during the lockdown.

Solitary Confinement

I'm trapped in solitary confinement

I hear life on the other side of the barren walls

It's been one year since

one year since I made the choice

People moved on but I stayed still

Alone with my thoughts, I'm under interrogation

Anxiety makes the first move, toying with me

It draws a sword and aims at my deepest fears

Loneliness  follows suit, taking a different approach

It pleads with me to let him in

I let him in

Good cop and bad cop take turns breaking me down, awaiting a confession

A confession of fear
