Status: Finished  |  Genre: Poetry  |  House: Booksie Classic

I locked the door behind myself
And burned the bridge with gas
I vowed to stay inside my house
Of tinted three-inch glass

I built myself a telescope
To watch the outside world
And late at night I lay in bed
While chaos out there swirled

Of all the things I could block out
Within the home I built
The only thing I couldn’t drop
Was my share of the guilt

So after many years of this
I thought I’d try my luck
At venturing outside my door
But now the damn thing’s stuck!
