Blooming Beaded Beads & A Rosy Posy Pendant

She lifted the necklace from her jewelry box.

The blooming beaded beads caught the light.

Their luminosity glowing as they had when he gave it to her.

She fondled the rosy posy pendant hanging in the center.

The colors on the petals captured each bead’s hue

And reminded her of the way his eyes captured the sunlight.

She recalled cuddling close to watch the heavens awake

Or sitting on a beach together as the sun sank beneath the waves,

The travels they shared and the tender moments quietly enjoying each other’s company. 

As well as their matched passion that spurred endless nights

And days of pleasure few would understand.

Through all the 22,684 days of their love she cherished their every moment together.

Of course, she remembered the good but even the bad was not forgotten,

Through infidelity, alcoholism, injury and sickness their love stayed strong and true.

But most of all she remembered his eyes tenderly caressing her face.

But those eyes no longer gazed at her or saw sunrises and sunsets.

His eyes are now closed forever and all she has are memories and a necklace
