This short story is about a man who is a serial killer during the night, and he goes by 'The Laughing Man'.

Once upon a time,

A child had stepped down the steep cobblestone road in the sleepy town of Liverpool, England. His hair was as dark as the night itself. His eyes were as grey as the clouds around him.  His name was Robin French, and he was the lord of the french house on Adair Road. His family had only known wealth, and never knew how it was to be poor. Lord Robin was quite a spoiled boy, and recieved whatever he asked for.

As he grew up, he started to learn that being wealthy had its downfalls, and that he had lived as if he were above all others. Lord Robin paced most days, paced back and forth just to think about the way he might be genuinely content. Then a thought came to him, and he said aloud, "You know, I've never laughed once in my entire life. I've always been depressed, rude, and very foul to the townsfolk of this dreadful town. I want to laugh at least once in my life, at least until I get to know my end." When he proclaimed this, the maid just happened to spy on his idea. As soon as he finished the word 'end,' she started to spread his idea out to others. Soon the French house had known his grand idea, and began to plan how to unravel it. They thought of one thing: Murder. The butler, Franklin King, had orchestrated the plan to murder Lord Robin French

So, on a dark Sunday morning, Franklin King repeatedly bludgeoned Lord Robin over his head.It ended with Robin on the carpet, his head wide open, his mouth in the form of a sad smile.Blood was pouring through the gap in his skull, and his eyes were glazed with the sight of death in them. Yet one thing never changed, the sad smile on his pale face.
