Of seasons changing.

grip of frozen wonder hold tight

shimmering blue white and silver beauty

catching momentary gem of crystal ice

melt before these warming eyes

tears may form in loves meaning

first silent flakes falling in December

days gone which gave quiet pause

fondly held to be desired and kept

deep drifts within minds heart

farewell for now to be met again.

I like this poem - the way it uses the change of season in the winter thaw to echo the numbing tears of parting.

I also like your choice of words with 's' 'v' and short narrow vowels in the 'i' and 'e'. This shows up the cold, fractured climate.

'shimmering'
'silver'
'ice'
'eyes'

These are very evocative words and well placed in your poem.
