is that the last daisy?

we are walking down a meadow,

and you intertwine daisies into my braids.

as you call me your Marilyn Monroe,

while we lay amongst the grass blades.

merging into the greenery,

holding onto forever.

heaven couldn’t quite match this scenery,

and its so much better here than never.

suddenly you tell me to come and hurry,

to follow you into a place with no end.

but now the world is turning oh so blurry,

and everything is starting to blend.

you say you love me for the last time,

always the bridesmaid and never the bride.

who knew broken promises tasted of a sour lime,

and i woke up alone with a dead daisy by my side.
