Just a poem I wrote for someone I cared for very deeply when she was blue.

By day and night
And night and day
It’s a struggle to keep
The hounds at bay

The headstrong bully
Or half hearted mate
They shove and push
And they take and take.

And they whittle down
The timid spirit
By each days end
You grow to fear it.

Rude and brash
They’re rough and tough
Dragging you down
Till enough is enough

And when no quarter
Is asked or given
When to the edge
The Timid are driven

We can reach inside
And find the stuff
That makes the Timid
Of the Tough

Break the chain
And get to livin’
And you will see,
How Tough are the Timid.
