A recap of last night's Winnipeg/Toronto game.

Sheldon Keefe

Toronto Maple Leaf's head coach, Sheldon Keefe, made no excuses for the 5-2 home loss to the Winnipeg Jets.

"I don't think anybody had a good game for us tonight," said Keefe bluntly at the postgame press conference.  "We were not even close.

There was no scoring in the first period.  Shots on goal were even, 7-7.

Mason Appleton put the Jets on the scorebord first with a goal just 1:41 into the second period.

Jake Muzzin tied the game with a short handed goal at 5:03.  It was Toronto's first short handed goal of the season.

William Nylander put the Leafs ahead 2-1 at 7:12.

Paul Stastny tied the game at 16:34.

Things went bad for Toronto in the third period.

Adam Lowry put the Jets up 3-2 at 7:39.

Nikolaj Ehlers scored a power play goal at 14:34.

Mark Scheifele scored on the power play at 16:32.
