Adventure Time

It’s the perfect day for adventure,

just right for a quest;

I’m setting out with a spring in my step

and you’re going to be impressed.

We’ll battle with those pirates

that sail upon the seas;

we’ll stand both firm and steady

and we’ll drive them to their knees.

Then we’ll go monster-hunting,

seeking ogres, tracking beasts;

and once we’ve gone and found them

we’ll return home for a feast.

Perhaps we’ll fly off into space

and find a planet where we can land.

We’ll seek out lots of aliens,

kick up interplanetary sand.

Remember, though, it’s tiring,

all the excitement of the quest;

when adventure time is over

we will need a lot of rest.

This was fun and sweet. I admire the subtle adventures that you offer and it makes me really want to set off on an adventure with you. Nothing much to say from this poem except it's a beautiful, short, yet expressive poem that I really like. Keep up the incredibly great work Hull, great job. - E.E

Thanks, Ezra. Just trying to find a bit of 'lightness'.

This stirred up my inner kid! How I miss those days of going to the park, or taking a backpack full of water pistols into the backyard, or setting up a few chairs in my bedroom and draping a blanket over them and creating a new world to explore with untold villains to fight off.
I miss being able to imagine and create free of judgement from myself.
Great poem, Hully! Makes me want to go outside, if only it wasn't so cold.

Thanks, Jeff. I'm my own worst enemy these days, and sometimes I just need to disconnect and go more for the fun stuff.
