A recap of last night's Toronto/Ottawa game.

The Toronto Maple Leafs were absolutely flat last night in Ottawa as the team lost to the Senators 4-3.

"Ottawa was the better team tonight," said Leafs head coach, Sheldon Keefe at the postgame press conference.

He, (Keefe), got that right.

Ottawa was the better team especially in the first and second period.

Brady Tkachuk put Ottawa ahead at 6:06 of the first period.

Just 7 seconds later, Ryan Dzingal made it a 2-0 game.

Toronto's goalie, Mike Hutchinson, was pulled and Frederik Andersen took over.

Zach Hyman closed the gap at 2-1 at 11:38.

Things got worse for Toronto in the second period.

Drake Batherson scored back-to-back goals, 53 seconds apart to put the Sens. ahead 4-1.

Hyman and John Tavares scored in the third period, but it wasn't enough.

Ottawa's goalie, Joey Deccord stopped 33 shots.

Toronto's Morgan Rielly had two assists last night.

Toronto has a long break before hosting the Calgary Flames this Friday.
