Returning to my childhood home makes me feel grounded and my soul feels refreshed.

Soul Cord

each day is a replica of the one before
drifting in a muffled atmosphere
'til one day you reconnect the soul cord
binding your "there" to your "here"
and you reel yourself in

the deafening fog dissipates in a glorious finale
evaporating in the welcoming warmth of your sun
as you pass the entrance to your cardinal valley
your "old" and your "new" become one
and you are replenished

living ghosts take solid form in front of your eyes
you inhale the comfort of your apple pie mountain
faded are the aching memories of heartbroken goodbyes
you swill from the oldest and deepest fountain
and you are reborn
