Like Treasure

It’s the color that first catches my eye;

green, like an emerald,

but it’s not, it is glass.

Stooping down, I let my fingers dig in,

work it loose and lift it -

an almost perfect heart shape.

I’m going to keep it, even though it’s worthless,

snuggled down safe in the bottom of my pocket.

Thanks, LE. It always surprises me the shapes you can find that have been created quite naturally.
