A Short poem based off of a reflection upon a dream I had recently. Maybe someone else has the same troubles some times.

Thoughts on Dreams

Do you ever have a dream about about a figure in your past?

Someone who you dreamed of loving, in a hope to never last?

The very thing just happened to me

I find him in a crowded hall and bring to a room

The people there had gathered to celebrate and chase away their gloom

It was his bithday, but could I have known?

He never knew the notes I took as our frienship had grown.

We sit to eat cake, in a room too loud to think

Without thinking I gave him a wink.

Oh, to wink at a crush that was never free

But here in this place he winked back at me.

We smiled and spoke as if circumstances were changed

The time seemed slow when we spoke from such a short range

I tried so scoot my chair to give him more distance

But no matter how for we moved, it made no difference.

We stayed side by side, our shoulders and legs brushing

And for this special day, no one was rushing

And yet I awoke with this memory dear

To stay with me still just as loud and clear

I often find that dream share with me desires

And yet at the end of the day we must remind oursilves to only admire

Because not everything is just as it seems

And if you can never move on, your heart will surely burst at the seams.
