A recap of yesterday's Toronto/New York Yankees game.

The Toronto Blue Jays won their season opener yesterday in extra innings, defeating the New Yankees 3-2.

Jay's manager, Charlie Montoyo, was really pleased on how his team played offensively.

"It was nice to see," said Montoyo at the postgame press conference.

At the top of the second inning, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. drove in Teoscar Hernandez with a RBI single.

In the bottom of the second inning, Gary Sanchez put the Yankees up 2-1 with a two run homer,

Hernandez tied the game at the top of the sixth inning with a solo home run.

Randal Grichuk drove in Hernandez with a RBI double at the top of the 10th inning.

Hernandez went three for four at the plate and had a RBI.

Jay's starting pitcher, Hyun-Jin Ryu, went 5.1 innings, allowing four hits, two earned runs, a walk, and struck out five batters.

Toronto's Julian Merryweather got the save.

Sanchez went two for three at the plate and had two RBIs.

Yankee's starter, Garrit Cole also went 5.1 innings, allowing five hits, two earned runs, two walks, and struck out eight batters.

Toronto plays the Yankees tomorow.
