Song from the depths of my mind

Verse:

What I show the world hides what's inside

I'm speaking in riddles, I'm living a lie

The picture I paint but an illusion

A man out of step, lost in confusion

Pre-Chorus:

The mask smiles but underneath it all

Is a man who is headed for the ultimate fall

Verse:

Just an outline of the man I've become

Going through motions, normal to some

Appearances deceiving, a slight of hand

Hiding in castles made of shifting sand

Pre-Chorus:

Is a man who is headed for the ultimate fall

Chorus:

Facing a world I no longer see as real and true

Maybe I never did, and I've just been a fool

Is it all an illusion in a fun-house mirror,

A hazy world in which nothing is clear?

The passing years bring unreal and rain

The crumbling pillars fall in heaps of disdain

Crushing all but the cult under it's falling stone

Leaving me disillusioned and so all alone
