Just a story on a breakup

The Breakup

For years you’ve kept me stuck, paralyzed and afraid of what’s on the other side.

For years you’ve made me bitter and upset with what I feel inside.

Afraid of my truths, I let you hide in my actions and smiles.

Now I’ll start a new life, one that comes with courage, grace, and a new style.

My journey may be long and I’m sure I ‘ll fall along the way.

But instead of whining about the fall, I’ll smile roll over and pray.

I’ll place courage in my heart and remove you once and for all.

There’s no anger at what you caused me to miss, only joy for what I’ve gained no matter how big or small.

Now that this is over, and the dust is starting to settle.

I can now learn from what we had and reach heights that are far beyond your level.

Some days will get tough, And I’ll be tempted to reach out.

On those days ill ignore the urge to call and continue to travel this new route.

Filled with confidence I now smile and live a life that’s honest and free.

No longer shame I will look in the mirror and see a better version of me.

Ill make new memories and resolutions, As if it’s the of a new year.

Today will be forever marked as the day I finally broke up with FEAR.
