There is something about the people we admire.

The holiest, the strongest, the bravest, the prettiest

Oh how we strive to pick one from the crowd.

Then there those that beguile us

And lie, right out loud.

Sheep in a drove, Cattle in a herd,

Fish in a barrel, or birds in a flock.

There is something about our need to follow

And the reasons are simple, but a bit of a shock.

We always want someone better than we

Then we ignore second best and even number three.

We could pick number twelve, handsome and strong.

Setting our bar lower, no, that would be wrong.

But with politicians, there's a difference,

And it's not just in a name,

Choosing someone less perfect

Give us someone to blame!
