Closing in

The jaws of a giant vise are looming,
The vise jaws business is booming

They're closing in on the trapped me,
Powerless to stop the ending I foresee

Problems loom like monsters in the fog,
Watch their relentless march with eyes agog

A Venus fly trap with me as the poor fly,
I know I won't get away, but still have to try

Troubles just waiting to feast on my brain
I'm a fresh painting left out in the rain

So the image dissolves into a pathetic mess,
I'm a desperate castaway signaling SOS,

I've spelled it wrong and the plane keeps going
And I'm left here while my worries keep growing
