“RISE AND SHINE ROBOT,” It was Brian

It is 5:30 in the morning. I still have 30 minutes to sleep. I pulled the covers over my head. Brian then yanked them off me.

“WAKE UP ROBOT, YOU WANT TO BECOME AN ASSASSIN RIGHT,” Brian shouted.

“Leave me alone,” I replied in a sleepy raspy voice.

“WOW, WHERE DID THE 21-YEAR-OLD GO,” Why was he still yelling.

There was no need to yell. Ugh, I regret this.

Oh, come on robot, wake up,” Brian shook me.

No, I still have 30 minutes,” I pointed to the clock.

“To bad robot,” Brian yanked my arm, and I fell onto the cold hard floor.

“WHAT THE HECK MAN,” I yelled rubbing my head.

“Sorry robot, it was the only way,” Brian smiled.

I was awoken by that bump on the head. I got up and got changed. I walked outside into the warm morning sun beaming down on my face.

“Hey look who decided to wake up,” Brian ran at me.

“Haha so funny,” I yawned.

Oh, come on you have to have a little bit of fun,” Brian giggled.

“Sure, anyways let's get this over with,” I rubbed my eyes.

“Thats the spirit,” Brian cheered.

I faltered over to the arena with Brian. I wasn't in the mood for working out this morning.

“Ok so let me explain to you the next couple of days, in the morning you will have combat training with me, around lunch time you will go with Ana and work on the smarts of being an assassin, in the afternoon you will go with Noah for agility, and at night you will go with Liam for throwing knifes and stuff like that,” Brian smiled.

“Ok,” I looked down.

It was too early in the morning for this. But I was worried for Liam’s training, because of what happened yesterday.

“Don’t worry, I am pretty sure Liam has cooled down a bit, plus we will be there to supervise, just in case,” Brian put his hand around my shoulder.

It's like he read my mind. Anyways I just want to get this over with and avenge Adrain.

“Ok now, punch me as hard as you can,” Brian stood still.

“Um what,” I was confused.

“Go ahead, I need to know where your strengths are,” Brian smiled creepily.

“Um ok,” I reared back.

I wasn’t going to hit him as hard as I could. I of course didn’t want to hurt him. I punched him in the cheek. He didn’t even flinch.

“Ok there's no way that was as hard as you could,” Brian didn’t move.

Yeah, it was,” I smiled.

“Ok first of all, DO YOU THINK THIS IS A JOKE, ARE YOU REALLY GOING TO GO EASY ON ME JUST BECAUSE YOUR SCARED, I AM NOT SCARED OF YOU, THE ONLY THING I SHOULD BE SCARED OF IS YOU WATCHING ME DIE NOT EVEN LISTENING TO ME,” Brian roared.

I froze. Pure rage filled my body.

“HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT,” I punched him forcing him to fall on the floor.

“I KNOW I AM A BAD FRIEND BUT AT LEAST I DON’T ACT LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED,” I shouted punching him again.

I stopped when I saw blood pouring from his nose. His eyes were closed.

“Oh no,” I quickly stood up and stared in fear.

“I killed him,” I dropped to my knees.

I faltered over to him and stared. Suddenly he sat up like nothing had happened.

“There you go, you just needed some minor encouragement,” Briasmiled wiping his nose.

“You got a good punch robot,” Brian laughed.

“Don’t do that, you scared me, I thought I hurt you,” I grabbed my chest catching my breath.

“Rule number 1 of becoming an assassin, learn acting,” Briafell dramatically.

“Ok now to get on with loosening up your punch for stronger impact,” Brian stood up and ambled to the other side of the arena.

He grabbed a weight and walked back over to me.

“Here put this on your wrist, now try to punch me,” Brian stood in front of me again.

I tried to punch him, but the weight almost broke my arm off.

“AH,” I shouted falling to the ground.

“HAHA,” Brian pointed at me.

“Try to loosen up your punch and that won’t happen, and if you don’t it will most likely break your arm off,” Brian smiled.

I stood up and tried again. The same thing happened. Repeatedly. I couldn’t get the hang of it. It was almost lunch time, and I hadn't done anything.

“UGH,” I fell to the ground.

“WHY IS IT SO HARD TO DO,” I was angry.

“Good, good, you are angry robot, ok this time before you punch me try to imagine being a breeze of wind, or a small wave in the huge ocean,” Brian suggested.

“What do you mean,” I asked.

Like I said just imagine you are a breeze 0f wind flowing through a feild of wheat, or that you’re a small wave in the huge ocean trying to find its way calmly to the shore, which one,” Brian smiled.

“The water one I guess,” I looked at him.

“Ok, so, act like you are a wave in the ocean, but you need to find your way to shore, you can’t become one of the big waves because there is a little girl floating on a tube, but she can’t swim, your only option is to slowly make your way to shore without making the girl fall in,” Brian exclaimed.

“Oh ok,” I didn’t really understand, but at this point I was willing to try anything.

I stood up and closed my eyes. I imagined being a wave in the ocean. I saw the little girl on the tube floating along. I slowly started moving, one bit at a time, I could feel myself relaxing. The shore got closer and closer. I finally touched the sand and flattened out onto the beach. Suddenly I heard Brain fall on the ground. I opened my eyes to see that I had punch Brain so hard that he fell on the ground.

“OH NO, BRIAN I AM SO SORRY,” I rushed over to him.

Brain laid there for a moment wide eyed before he finally gave me a sign that he was ok.

“OH YEAH ROBOT YOU DID IT,” Brian stood up jumping up and down.

“Welp, that concludes today lesson, see you tomorrow,” Brian ambled into the house.

I faltered into the house behind him into the dining room. Ana was sitting there with 2 plates of food, and a bunch of notes.

“Well how did Brian go,” Ana asked.

“It was tough,” I laughed.

“Thats good, well come and start eating, you can listen to me while you eat,” Ana gestured to the chair on the other side of the table.

I looked at the tasty juicy steak that was sitting on the plate in front of me. I started to drool as I picked up the fork and raised the steak up to my mouth.

“Ok, POP QUIZ,” Ana yelled which made me drop my steak back on my plate.

“ALREADY,” I shouted.

“Yep, ok first scenario, if someone asks where you work what do you tell them,” Ana asked.

“Uh at the nearest office,” I answered.

“WRONG, you then interrogate them before answering the question, for they are probably an enemy,” Ana corrected.

“Wait what if it’s a citizen,” I asked confused.

“You will be able to tell, trust me,” Ana continued, “Next question, an enemy has a hostage and has them at gun point, what do you do,” Ana asked.

“You stall until help arrives,” I answered again unsure.

“Wrong if you stall and the police finds you, you will be questioned, and most likely will get figured out,” Ana corrected me again.

“These questions are weird,” I looked at her.

“Final question, what do you do when someone asks for your name,” Ana asked me the final question.

“You don’t tell them your name, or tell them a fake one,” I answered closing my eyes hoping the answer was right.

“WRONG, well kind of, we each have a fake identity, you will read the information off of this,” Ana showed me her id.

“Wow that’s cool,” I smiled.

“Not when you have to memorize the time you were born,” Ana looked at me dead eyes.

“What,” I looked at her.

“Just kidding, now listen and eat your food,” Ana pointed.

While I ate my food, she continued to tell me stuff that didn’t make sense. But I did listen. I heard every part of it, and I wasn’t about to forget it.

“Ok here is your final quiz of the day, if someone asks where you work what do you tell them,” It was a repeat of the pop quiz.

“You interrogate them assuming they are an enemy,” I replied quickly.

“GOOD, if the enemy has a hostage what do you do,” Ana proceeded.

“You save them the best you can before police arrive,” I responded.

“GREAT, last question, what do you do when someone asks for your name,” She repeated the final question.

“You give them the information on your fake id,” I blared.

“WOW, you did it soldier, there is a quick preview of what this week will be with me,” Ana smiled.

I looked down at my plate to see all the food-gone. It was finally the afternoon.

Well, you better get to Noah outside, have fun,” Ana stood up and ambled away.

I walked to the door and opened it slightly. I saw Noah standing there in the middle of an obstacle round-a-bout thing. I sauntered over to him.

“Oh, there you are robot,” Noah smiled.

“Ok, let's get this over with,” Noah seemed to be just like me, wanting to get this done.

So, you're going to do this course while it is spinning,” Noah pointed.

“Wait then I would never finish,” I looked at him.

“Yeah, that’s the point, plus it will speed up after a while,” Noah smiled.

“Ok then,” I ambled over to the course and observed.

It looked straightforward. You had to jump and duck under something, but it looked easy.

“Then once you get to where you can do this at 50mph you can move to that one,” Noah pointed at the jumbo version of the small one.

The only difference was that there were weapons on the big one. There were also harder jumps.

“Uh,” I looked in terror.

“But first let's get this one covered,” Noah motioned me to get on.

I stepped on and it started moving very slowly. I could pretty much walk and still beat it. I jumped and ducked underneath the boards one at a time. Then it started to speed up. I was running as fast as I could. I feel like I was skipping every jump. I was getting tired, so I asked what we were at.

HEY, NOAH, HOW FAST IS THIS THING,” I yelled puffing.

Oh, right now it is only at about 30mph,” Noah smiled.

“WHAT,” I then fell on the bottom of the course.

Oh, you ok,” Noah ran over offering me his hand.

“Yeah,” I was tried.

I knew I could do it. I didn’t have enough strength left to do anything.

“Look next time you go up there don’t think about how fast you're going, try to imagine you are going in slow motion, trust me it will work,” Noah suggested.

“Um ok,” I mean it probably will work going on what happened last time with Brian.

I hopped on the course and Noah started it up. It went slow like last time but eventually sped up. When it got too fast for me to handle, I did as Noah said and acted like I was in slow motion. It felt like I was in one of the action scenes in a superhero movie. After a few minutes, I asked how fast we were going, making sure not to lose focus.

HEY, NOAH, WHAT ARE WE AT NOW,” I shouted.

“You are at 49mph, one more minute,” Noah replied.

That minute was the longest of my whole life. But eventually, it was over. I did it. After my lungs were burning fire. I could barely breathe. Now all that’s left is Liam's class. This is the one I haven’t been looking forward to. I didn’t know if he was still mad at me or not. Now is his time to get his revenge, I guess.

“Welp looks like the sun is starting to set, you better get to Liam in a hurry, or he will get mad,” Noah advised.

“Thank you, Noah, see you later,” I waved as I darted around the corner.

As soon as I turned the corner, I saw Liam standing there waiting for me.

“Oh hey,” I smiled trying to be nice.

“Ok let's get started,” Liam ignored my greeting.

“Oh, ok,” I knew he was still mad now.

“Ok I want you go throw this knife at that wooden figure right there,” Liam pointed to a wooden man on the other side of the arena.

“Ok,” I grabbed the knife he was holding out for me and walked up to the white line.

I stood there and reared back. I flung the knife at the wood but missed completely.

“How do you even miss that,” Liam slapped his palm on his face.

“I don’t know,” I looked at him.

“Try again,” Liam ordered.

I tried again and missed.

“Again.”

I tried again and again but continued to miss.

“UGH, what am I doing wrong,” I shouted in frustration.

“Figure it out yourself,” Liam walked away from me.

I was tired of him. I leaped and grabbed his hand.

“LOOK I KNOW YOU ARE MAD AND EVERYTHING, BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN THAT YOU CAN’T HELP ME,” I yelled.

Liam looked at me wide-eyed.

“hmm... that's weird because I know that Adrain did it his first time,” Liam exclaimed.

WELL, I AM NOT LIKE ADRAIN,” I replied.

Well, you better learn how if you want to be the new him,” Liam whispered.

He sauntered away. Liam was supposed to be helping me. But he does have a point. I will never be able to avenge Adrain if I keep this up. I reached down and grabbed the knife. I reared back and threw it out of frustration. When I turned around, I saw the knife sticking out of the figure's chest. I did it. I finally did it. I turned around to see Liam standing there in shock.

“Well, I am going to hit the hay, make sure you are ready tomorrow, it is going to get harder from here,” Liam started back towards the house.

I survived the 1st day of training. Now it's time to go through that for the next week.
