Dec has been bullied right when he started school, but when he wins one of the biggest games of his life, could he make an unexpected friend.

Dec woke up on a Monday morning, like always, a very boring day. He brushed his teeth, hair, got on his clothes and shoes, and made his bed. Then he went downstairs and dad asked, "What are you doing at school today Dec?" "Just usual stuff. Getting bullied around and doing boring work." "Why do you say that?" asked dad. "Well there's this kid named Carson,  and he bullies me because of my name," said Dec. "Well, we can't control what other people think, only what you think." Then Dec had breakfast and he waited for Sarah, his sister, then they got in the car and went to school.
When Dec is heading to school, he always has butterflies in his stomach because of the bully. The only friend he has at school is Jacob. He also has some on his baseball team. And, guess what, the bully Carson is in his class. Dec is in the 2nd grade, so it is hard when there are bullies. When they got to school, Dec and Sarah said goodbye to their dad, and Dec said goodbye to Sarah. Then they got out of the car and went to their classrooms.

When Dec got to Mr. Robinson's class, he sat down and did his morning work. Then, right when Dec started his worksheet, Carson walked in and said, "Why don't you go Dec the halls with boughs of weirdos." Right when he said that, Dec started crying. After he turned in his sheet, Mr. Robinson asked, "Why is your paper wet Dec?" "Carson said, why don't you go Dec the halls with boughs of weirdos and was making fun of my name." That was the first time Mr. Robinson sent Carson down to the principal's office. All the other times it happened, Dec was so scared to tell Mr. Robinson.

After morning work, they did the pledge of allegiance. Then they had free time for 30 minutes. Next, they went to Music. It was his favorite special of them all because everyone sings, therefore, not paying attention to him. After specials, they went back to the classroom. Carson was sitting at his desk, doing nothing. When they came in, Carson stuck his tongue out at Dec and made a mean face. He sat down at his desk and, Mr. Robinson said to finish anything you haven't finished. After that, they did math. They had to add five digits by four digits. Dec thought it was pretty easy. After that, they packed up.

Then Dec went to the bus. He saw Carson and he looked sad. When he walked past him he didn't say anything mean to him. Dec went up to him and said, "What's wrong?" he knew he shouldn't have asked. Here it comes, him saying the rudest thing to Dec. "Hey Dec, I am sorry I have been so mean to you lately. Can you forgive me?" Well, Dec was not expecting that. "Uh. thanks, and yes!" Then Carson did the most unexpected thing. He hugged Dec. "Well see you later Dec!" And Carson turned around and left.

When Dec got home, his dad was there working on his computer. He asked, "What time is Baseball?" "6:30, the practice is at 6:00." It was 5:48 so they headed to Baseball. The coach was the only one there, other than Dec and his dad. His coach is nice. He encourages Dec to work harder. Dec's teammates were coming. All of Dec's teammates were his friends. Then they practiced and it was 6:25 so they got in positions. Ok, the score is 5 to 5 and Dec is up. He swings, hits, and gets a home run! They won the championship! The next day Dec got to school everyone was asking him questions from yesterday. Now everyone is his friend, even Carson.
