Busy people--
rushing to nowhere.
Rat race
to the hole-in-the-wall hovel
we each call
home.
Cardboard castles
scrape
at a never-ending sky.
Everything seems
so small
from down here...
Hustle and bustle
in the big city.
Move along;
move along.
There's nothing to see.
Slate towers huddle together for warmth
and exhale chalky scribbles
which are swallowed up
by the yawning gray expanse above.
Everything
seems
so
small.
