The Cure
How can you offer me
a cure?
Blinded,
you cannot see
that the ‘sickness’ inside
which you want to remove
is the very essence
of ‘me’.
Your cure
would prove fatal,
leaving no more than
a shadow,
a husk -
but I won’t argue
for you always know best.

This feels so thick to read, and I think it's perfect. There's pain, rejection, doubt, but surrender in this poem and I dig it. Great job Hull. - E.E
