Sample #1:

A giant boulder fell smack in the middle of the city and crunched three cars as flat as pancakes.

An enormous pink tentacle demolished a whole block to smithereens.

A humongous spiky tail swung into the three tallest buildings and crumpled them like a used tissue.

“WHERE THE HECK IS THAT DANG KID??!” everyone screamed at once.

Sample #2:

Cam ducked.  The last thing she wanted was a head full of snot rocket.  She had to think fast.  Normally she could just kick and punch and wrestle the monsters until they surrendered.

Not this time.  Now she had to dodge disgusting projectile nose candy.  It wasn’t going to be easy.

Cam ran for cover and ducked under a city bus.  She figured she was safe for the moment.  Then the bus started to pull away.

“Drat,” Cam muttered and ran again.  This time she found a hiding place down an alley.  She was just starting to think of a plan when a giant splat behind her sent her racing out of the alley, angrily wiping green gunk off her feet as she ran.

Sample #3:

Cam sprang into action. She dodged the Blurginator 3000….She went one way and the chief went the other.  Cam reached the monsters first.  The first one she saw was a spongey, pink, three-headed fuzz ball….Just as she was getting ready to kick it as hard as she could in the shins, a blue, jelly-looking monster kicked her.

So, it’s going to be like that, Cam thought.  Fine.  She could handle a little bit of a challenge.

She got to work, punching and kicking, whomping and pummeling.  There were a lot of monsters out today, not just the usual crowd.  Cam didn’t care.  One battle was just like another to her.  She just put her head down and did her job.

The battle was almost over when Cam heard the chief’s voice from somewhere above her.  It sounded shaky and scared.

“Uh, Cam?” he called.  Cam looked up.  The chief was dangling in midair, held up by a pale green tentacle with icky things that looked like bumps all over it.
