There are different kinds of family

In the course of an average lifetime

You may encounter

Ten-thousand different faces

Of course that may depend

On your profession

Or your social skills

But collectively

They all have their own times and places

There’s the family

That you are born into

And there’s the family

That you meet along the way

Then there’s the family

That you leave behind

When home is no longer

A good place to stay

Every individual leaves their mark upon you

They all give you room to grow

Some are so kind

It hurts to leave them behind

Others make it easy to go
