My painting " Devil Reef"
Lovecraftian poem

From Arkhams memories
A darkness stirs,
Wrought by ancient evil curses,
In Devil reef, to Innsmouth there,
Not seen but fleeting shadows where,
Much older beasts can still endure.
We fear that, which we have seen,
But unknown to us is in the deep,
A corrupted malevolent violent lot,
Stealing souls and changing men,
To unthinkable beasts then back again.
The tentacles writhing up above,
The last thing seen, before a grave is dug.
Shadows moving in the night,
That give us all a terrible fright.
Lovecraft knew of secret things,
Hinted at in nightmarish dreams,
Were they imagined demons there?
Or truthful visages that he shared?
We know not if this grimly veil,
Is based in wisdom or just a tale,
Whatever is unknown it seems,
Makes us wake with sudden screams.
So close your eyes, and keep a light,
And pray you make it through the night.

Been reading Lovecraft. ..
He was a creepy racist bastard...
But amazingly a master of imagery.
