The first breath of justice and accountability I've taken in years...

I take a breath

I take a breath-

Not because of the impending dome of injustice,

That is a constant, but for the modicum of accountability

Afforded us on this day, not for the air of justice, but for

The collective possibility of changing hearts and minds,

I take a breath, to summon the strength for the long fight

Ahead, to bring greater justice, accountability and

Equality to this and every nation, a cleansing breath,

A breath of preparation, a breath long overdue,

I take a breath, to talk to my neighbor in search of

Understanding, to lobby my political leaders to

Legislate common sense justice reform, to hope

For good and honest police officers break with the

Blue wall to reform their needed profession- So today

I take a breath, to prepare for what tomorrow brings...
