A structural engineer girl
A builder
An endangered ancient structure

First meeting

She was trying to locate the exact lane. It was taking her a while to locate landmarks given by her Grandma as they were more than 30 year old. This part of the city gets up late, she noted in mind. After some trying, she spotted a ancient marble carving, pointing the way.

A few meters walk and she was standing in front of the sacred place. It was still the way Grandma had described it to be, Calm and serene! She entered, and after completing rituals, found a spot for meditation. The place gave boost to her mind. As she was wrapping up the CHAKRA DHYAN (CHAKRA MEDITATION), she started sensing random chattering in adjacent Hall.
As priest handed her Prasad, she inquired and was told that the area was under renovation and a big builders highly educated foreign returned son was visiting today and thus locals had gathered in the hall. She decided to hurry her way out as she had to head for work.

She took a quick look at the gathering. There were few engineers from builder side, flaunting construction hats unnecessarily. There seemed some debate going on. "Here! such a vicinity to Nullah! This temple will fall off any time!" One of them yelled, pointing outside the window. A 100 year old structure was in danger. She could not resist temptation to examine the situation to form her opinion. The arrangements were not in best health, but in repairable condition, she made note in her mind after observing. As she leaned further to take a detailed look, her sandal slipped. She took hold of railing. It saved her from falling off she thought. But soon realized, someone was holding firmly onto her shoulder from behind. She was startled. She turned and her eyes immediately caught a pair of eyes fixed upon her. For couple of moments, both were engrossed in each other. Soon they came to present moment. There was awkward silence followed by the engineers in helmet rushing to the man! He inquired after her. She assured him of her good health. Within a fraction of second, whole gathering had encircled the man. As she was really scared already since she almost fell off the window, now this assembly alarmed her further. Sensing her situation, he pulled her near, in order to protect her. She felt his soul to be that of a nice man. And somehow, he triggered her heart to beat faster. Her chicks blushed and resembled colour of her suite.

He calmed the gathering with ease. She admired him. As he assured locals he would try his best to save the sacred place, the tension dissipated and crowd started disappearing.

"You were trying to commit suicide?" He asked her out of nowhere in a tone no one else could hear them. "ME? When?" She was confused. "At window..." "Nah! I was observing the Nullah as your engineer said this temple was endangered. To me, it looked like some strengthening would work pretty well. A hundred year old structure would be in list of endangered ancient buildings, to demolish this way!" She replied. He was taken aback. "Are you engineer?" he inquired. "Structural engineer!" She replied proudly. He was trying to judge her may be, she thought, just when he asked her "what kind of remedial measures would you propose in the scenario?" She took out a pen and paper from bag and prepared some sketches and within 10 minutes, handed it to him with the note to prop the structure and get exact dimensions measured. he promised her to follow the scheme and check the feasibility. He seemed really good at his work and a quick decision maker. After exchanging few construction issues, she took their leave.

As she sat herself in a rick, she realized she had forgotten her heart. It was at his disposal!
