My Tourniquet

I’m unraveled.

Self-control slipping,

sanity dripping;

I need to feel;

all too numb,

to this blade I’ll succumb.

Better than nothing.

Blood seeps through fingers,

strap my arm tight,

tourniquet to end my plight.

With needle and thread

I begin to sew,

leaving scars that show.
