Wind and rain beat against the green and white cottage

Inside, the fire glows and warms its inhabitants

Grey cat paws at the wool rug where he naps

Water and food nearby

Wife at the stove, stirring the stew

Husband, setting the table, slicing the bread

They don't have much

They don't need much

A sturdy home against the elements

Comfortable furnishings

Nothing flash

Food and warmth

Books to read

Music to hear

Companionship for the three

In their green and white cottage

That is about right 88, though some people suffice with just a puss...

D. Thurmond aka JEF

Simple and full of visuals, I felt like I was there; very well done.

Thank you. It's a place in my mind where I go to sometimes when the days events get a bit stressful. So, thought I would write about it. Hope we all have a cottage to retreat to. Thanks for reading.
