The realization that change has to happen within or nothing without will.

Purgatory. A waiting area where wayward souls wander haplessly until they find their final destination. I think we start here in life. Unaware and directionless, an eddy in our lives catching us in its current and not relenting. It’s the force inside us we must fight in order to advance. But it’s the trick that gets us. That everyday changes so little and becomes so close to the one prior you don’t realize that the one after will be the same until it expires. And thus, we find ourselves spinning with each other out of our control but not really. It’s man’s oldest story yet one truly so little told. We become the stone at the bottom of the riverbed under our soles. Never truly realizing it’s us who has to change. The universe isn’t aware of our circumstance and doesn’t have the care to alter them, so the days stay the same and if we don’t wish to become part of the unending current that wil ultimately drag us to an end beyond our control, we will step out. Loose our grip on the only thing we think we have power over and let go of our selves to hopefully be something different. But oh the undertow is so strong.
