Unicorn Island

On a dark gloomy night in a beautiful house, or you could even say a mansion, a 10-year-old girl, Ari, lay in bed. She felt a little bored so decided to sneak out and see if she could find something to do. She was not afraid of the dark like most other 10-year-olds, she was brave, nothing scared her.

Hours later Ari found herself in a lonely, deserted forest. She saw a lake up ahead and a bench. When she sat down, out of the corner of her eye she saw a shadow. It was a rather odd shade, Ari gulped, for the first time in her life she felt frightened, unaware of what to expect and knowing she was far from home and had no one to protect her.

The shadow began to move closer and closer, Ari’s heart began to beat like a drum, sweat dripped down her forehead but then something stage happened – Ari smiled, it was a unicorn!

Ari soon relaxed, she raced over and jumped on, she touched the horn and they suddenly galloped off to begin their adventure.

After riding for what seemed like forever, they realised they were on an island – a unicorn island! This was what dreams were made of, Ari had always wanted to meet a unicorn and most of all she had always wanted to visit a unicorn island!

Just at that moment Ari looked down, she realised she had also become a unicorn. All of the others raced towards her ‘come and play’ they shouted and off she went.

Then Ari felt a big bright light piercing her eyes and the sound of a voice saying ‘wake up Ari, you will be late for school.’ It was her Mum – had this really all been a dream?
