A quest for love.

Like the Sailor Moon

Against the tide she sailed

from Madagascar to Brazil,

Greenland to Patagonia,

looking for love, finding

many things instead

There was gold at the bottom

of the sea, silver in the

falling rain, and lots of people

who claimed friendship,

none who offered love

She gave up her travels,

settled down in Mexico,

had no reason ever to

leave again, made a home

a hacienda, an abode,

devoid of feelings, except

the kind coming from

within, alone, self-contained

as she ever could be,

sharing her solitude with me
