taken from my book, "Our Founded Feelings"

Not Giving Back

Like bubbles floating in thee obituaries

i will hover in thee air around you

I might not know what it means to be clean

But at least it's not drugs I'm using

I'm selfish in my recovery

I only care that I, alone, gets the program

I don't give a rats ass for the newcomer

Everybody else could just stay using

Let them find recovery, themselves!

I'm not gonna help them

I'm here for "me"

This is a "me" program

And "I" am in it

When you fall

I will be the one to laugh

When you're struggling for help

And nobody can help you kill yourself

It's me keeping you alive, in your worthless life

When all you want

Is somebody to treat you like a princess

Laughter is all you'll get as a reaction to that

So go ahead

Drink your beer

And turn that pipe

You're the one that's going to die

'Cause you're the one that wants to die

So don't ask me to be your sponsor

I'm not qualified to do more

Than tell you to "do as I say

Not as I do"

'Cause I'm unemployable

And nothing but a bad influence

I'm not "perfect"

__like the rest of the recovering addicts here

Trust me

I have nothing to offer
