A Spectrum Of Color

Specks of color,

stand out in contrast

to the greenness of grass.

Stepping carefully,

I approach,

and as I get near,

what it is that I’m seeing

soon becomes clear.

Petals opened and spread

in a whole spectrum of shades

greet the sun with a message

that says

without the slightest of doubt:

‘Spring has now sprung.’
