When I look at you

In those eyes that used to reflect back familiarity

I see nothing but strangeness

Those same eyes shared tears of laughter and sorrow with me

Held memories only remembered in the subconscious of our minds

Now those precious moments have been erased

Set ablaze by the slow desecration of our past

Instead of seeing the person I knew that shared so much time with me

Instead of seeing possibilities and hope reflected back at me

I see a walking grave of what has past and is only remembered by the eyes

You have become a walking memoriam for the past I still hold on too

The eyes have remained but everything has changed
