A recap of last night's Vancouver/Toronto game.

The Toronto Maple Leafs won their fifth straight game last night, defeating the Vancouver Canucks 5-1.

At the postgame press conference last night, Leaf's head coach, Sheldon Keefe, credited the team's defence for their recent success.

Tanner Pearson put Vancouver up 1-0 at 13:28 of the first period.

Auston Matthews tied the game at 15:24.

The Leafs went ahead 2-1 at 3:50 of the second period with another goal by Matthews.

Adam Brooks scored at 4:55 of the third period.

Alex Galchenyuk scored at 11:39.

Joe Thornton scored at 18:00.

Toronto's Mitch Marner had two assists last night.
