A recap of last night's Toronto/Oakland Game One.

(No. 22) Steven Matz loses his cool in the dugout.

 

Toronto Blue Jay's starting pitcher, Steven Matz, showed his frustration in the dugout last night as his team lost 5-4 to the Oakland Athletics.

The A's went ahead 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

First, Jed Lowrie drove in Matt Chapman with a double.

Then, Stephen Piscotty hit a two run homer.

The Jays tied the game at the top of the third inning.

First, Bo Bichette drove in Danny Jansen with a single.

Then, Teoscar Hernandez hit a two run single.

Oakland went ahead 5-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Ramon Laureano hit a two run homer.

Vladmir Guerrero Jr. scored on a wild pitch at the top of the eighth inning.

Piscotty went two for three at the plate and had two RBIs.

Oakland's starting pitcher, Frankie Montas went six innings, allowing seven hits, three earned runs, a walk, and struck out four batters.

Hernandez had two RBIs last night.

Matz went five innings, allowing seven hits, five earned runs, a walk, and struck out six batters.

Game Two is tonight.
