Its about a cloud in soliloquy, the way our world has changed

Megha (The Cloud)

By the end of May beginning June the land below looked parched, what remained of the green below looked up to me in despair, it wrenched my inner soul, I said to my self ” do something” with all that smoke spewing out all over from  chimneys and what not, the green dwindling down. I  know it's not easy like old times, say a century ago. I hardly get my food fill these days, but then its my job, many depend on me, I had to do something.  All said and done I just can’t start off just like that, I had to call upon my old special effects team, Ooh boy were  they eager? That would be an understatement. I sent a message to the others in my group to join along. Gradually we started to gather.

Below exists a species called "Humans"I look down and see three looking up towards us.  Well this is one species on this planet that assumes they have a say in everything.  All other creatures mind their own business but not this species. One asks the other pointing at us “will they Pour? The other replies “hope so” the third one says "Naah they are fooling around. Last year and the one before they fooled us, nothing will be different this year ". I guess this must be " the wise guy, who knew everything type”. Like I said before, this species always had a say.  Through the years the green canopy have vanished, Now they have fancy words like “Green Revolution, Go Green, Global Warming. One even had a question "how come oceans get rains though there are no trees there". He went on to say "no trees no rains is just an excuse the clouds don't want to rain on land". By now many from my group had come together we were spread across a large area, defined in human terms as many square miles.

I looked at my special effects team and gave a nod. The effects began with a blinding light release that spiked down with a loud thunderous cracking roar, similarly many more followed. As we changed color to a darker shade, blocking the late afternoon sun. All little creatures ran for shelter the humans scampered into their shelters called houses, the wise guy ran first, they knew what was coming.  We poured down for the better part of evening with all the bells and whistles till late into the night. After pouring down for hours we moved on, by now the ponds were filled and rivulets flowing.

After a couple of weeks I was going back alone over the wise guys village, everything looked so lush and green. There were humans working in the fields, I could hear birds sing, flowers had  blossomed , the weak starved trees were filled with life, they looked up towards me with a smile in fulfillment and gratitude, I smiled back  moving on. Out of nowhere I suddenly remembered the great writer who once long ago asked me “ Megh would you please give a message to my love if you happen to pass by her place?”. Over the years I have met many but this one is the silver lining  which stays vivid in my memory.
