Anthony the anxious flying ant is at it again along the long and winding path. This time a whole new set of friends come to his aid only to be let down at the last minute. Anthony is one bad ant!

Anthony the Anxious Flying Ant is at it again.

As he walks along the long and winding road, he is sad to be alone.

‘I’m so sad, I need a home’.

‘Got no friends’.

‘I don’t want to be alone’.

As Anthony walks along the path looking for somewhere to live, he meets a little mouse.

‘Why so glum Mr Ant?’, asked the little creature.

The Ant replied.

‘I’m so sad, I need a home’.

‘Got no friends’.

‘I don’t want to be alone’.

‘Well my name is Micky, and I am a mouse. I have a spare room in my little mouse house’.

‘Thank you very much, but I need somewhere with a bath. I like to keep clean’, replied the Ant with a laugh.

‘Then I will help you’, said Micky, the mouse.

On they went along the long and winding path.

Along the way they met a rabbit.

‘Hello to you both’, said the fluffy grey bunny.

‘Why such gloomy faces? Don’t you have any money?’.

The Ant replied.

‘I’m so sad, I need a home’.

‘Got no friends’.

‘I don’t want to be alone’.

‘Well my name is Mary, I live in a big hole’.

‘There’s plenty of room, but it is dark and scary’.

‘Thank you very much, but I need some more space’, said the small flying Ant, smile on his face.

‘Then I will help you’, said the big fluffy bunny.

On they went along the long and winding path.

Along the way they met a reptile.

‘Hi, my name is Jake, and I am a snake. What are you all doing, near this lovely lake?’.

The Ant replied.

‘I’m so sad, I need a home’.

‘Got no friends’.

‘I don’t want to be alone’.

‘I live quite near, and you are welcome to stay. Under a pile of sticks, come on, this way’.

‘Thank you so much Mr Snake, but I like it warm’, replied the Ant, his face all a scorn.

‘Then I will help you’, said the slithering snake.

On they went along the long and winding path.

Along the way they met an Owl. The Owl was perched on a tree at the side of the lake.

‘Hello you plump and juicy four. Fancy seeing you out here, approaching my door’.

‘My name is Ollie, and I am an Owl. This is my home, it’s from here that I prowl.

The Ant replied.

‘I’m so sad, I need a home’.

‘Got no friends’.

‘I don’t want to be alone’.

The Owl, a clever old bird, spoke with a snigger.

‘This is my home, lots of space, and it’s warm. Please come on inside it gets bigger and bigger’.

Anthony smiled, then said.

‘This is just what I need, new friends, not alone. Come on you guys, come inside my new home’.

In slithered the snake, followed by a big hopping bunny. Last in was the mouse, into the Owl’s big tree house.

But the Ant stayed outside, then winked at the Owl. He was an old friend of the bird, who was out on the prowl.

As the door closed behind them, the animals knocked harder. They were now locked inside, the Owl’s secret larder.

‘Goodbye Mr Ant, It’s time for my meal. Here, take these plump berries, that was the deal’.

And on Anthony went with his berries, along the long and winding road.
