In Requiem

Can I mourn the death

of something strangled

before it had a chance

to live...?

Is it a travesty?

No; my grief is deep,

my mourning soul-wrenching.

Digging earth

until I make a hole

large enough to contain

what might have been

while I sing a requiem for its death.
