Semien Provides Breathing Room In The Ninth

A recap of last night's Toronto/Houston Game Two.

"it was the biggest win of the year," said Toronto Blue Jay's manager, Charlie Montoyo at last night's postgame press conference after his team defeated the Houston Astros 8-4.

"I'm really happy about it, " said Montoyo.

Toronto's Cavan Biggio kicked things off with a two run homer at the top of the second inning.

Danny Jansen made it 3-0 Jays with a solo home run at the top of the third inning.

Later that same inning, Randal Grichuk hit a two run double.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Yordan Alvarez hit a two run homer.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Alvarez drove in Aledmys Diaz with a single.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Houston closed the gap at 5-4 when Alex Bregman scored on a routine ground out.

Fortunately for the Jay's, Marcus Semien provided some breathing room with a three run homer at the top of ninth inning.

Semien had three RBIs lst night.

Jay's starting pitcher, Steven Matz went five innings, allowing eight hits, three earned runs, no walks, and struck out four batters.

Alvarez went two for four at the plate and had two RBIs.

Astro's starting pitcher, Cristian Javier went 5.1 innings, allowing four hits, five earned runs, four walks, and struck out eight batters.
