90% sounds like good odds, unless you’re that one guy outta ten

90% Chance

On Tuesday

I have an appointment

With destiny

Seems like the ultimate bill

Has come due

Pneumonia, sepsis

And heart disease

Have ravaged anything

That is left in me

But it’s all good

Friends and family

Tell me it’s cool

I’m gonna lay down

And take a little nap

With a breathing tube in my craw

With any luck

When Wednesday rolls around

I’ll have a tale to tell

It’ll be the biggest

Turn around

You ever saw

But if I’m

Not around anymore

Next week

Oh well

Nice 'roll with it' sentiment of a personal moment. Adventure either way - now you know, ...or you continue to grow. Thanks for the poetic sharing, and all the very best wished atcha. SPP

I self published 200 copies of my first book. I’ve been handling them out like parking tickets to the doctors and nurses as my way of saying “thanks”

I’ve got enough material for a second book. I’ve already contacted the publisher. I’ll keep you posted

I don't know you but does it matter? Do we need to know each other to care? I read the poem, don't know why but I did. It made me feel something. Sad? Kinda. Admiration for your strength? Sure.

Really though I just felt human...maybe even connected. Right now we both are walking Earth together, connected by life, connected by this poem. Right now you are here and I hope wedsday that remains the same. If not, I am glad I had the chance to read your poem.

I’m still in the ICU. I’ve been in the hospital for a month now. Last time I checked, not counting the anesthesiologist, not counting the week at bay area hospital, not counting the surgery, not counting the helicopter ride my hospital tab was already a quarter million dollars. Now it’s probably closer to half a million dollars.

I just ordered an air fryer from amazon

I ilks the idea that we’re connected by the poem. That is humanity at its best.

You made my day, buddy. Thanks
