Bird song breaking winters hold
morning sunshine melts the cold.
Barren gardens and naked trees
Showing signs of budding leaves.

Golden cups and dainty whites
shooting up in grass overnight.
Blades of grass grow back tall
calling of the mower heard by all.

Sowing seeds and potting plants
fertile soil holds insects like ants.
Daffodils tulips planted in rows
a feast of colour will soon grow.
