Unmanageable fortress

Of tangled night-dreams,

Of mangled blight-screams.

Water burns, fire quenches.

Any choice means fate is sealed.

Any movement is a yield.

Futility abandoned

No tangible wall to tear at,

No friends or fiends to glare at.

Solid ground easily liquifies.

To wander into the murk and vanish,

To back away and thyself banish.

Lids refuse to stay open

Terribly obscuring the way ahead.

So much terrain traveled from bed.

Unmanageable fortress,

Climb the battlements high

Turn to face the Eastern sky.

Untouchable salvation,

Phantom limbs outstretched will wait

Pressing meagerly on the unlocked gate
