I nearly lost my best friend, Brother Winston, to a rare blood disease called IMHA. I was planning on getting another puppy but thinking I’d be trading one for another. As it turned out, she was the right decision either way. Zamora has helped greatly with his recovery????????????

Za-Za &

I remember where I was the day when it happen

On my deck pumping some iron, listening to Snoop rappin’

Singing “Slim with the tilted brim.”

Soon after, no more laughter, things turned kinda grim

Thoughts of her on my mind

Only hovering in the background

Along with thoughts of a different kind

Would he even be around

Because IMHA is what they found

Could life be this unkind?

Yes, and there is no rewind

Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst

Surly it’s to early to lose my first

I was a hot mess

And many others feeling unrest

One night while Brother Winston was sleeping

Heart breaking I lay over him weeping

I remember I began to whisper

I want you to know that if you go, I’ll miss you so, and did all I could for ya

As your Papi my life you’ve graced, you’ll never be replaced, I feel my heart will heal with Zamora

Now look at you, you’re pulling through, with support and prayers from just a few

And for me, thankfully, it’s not either or

Grateful for the restart, plenty of space in my heart to love one more
